Guardians, shortage thereof

Law In Action today featured the issue of the shortage of Guardians and the impact on family cases. As usual you can listen again online or download the podcast.

Please note that the LSC intends to remove any option of the court appointing independent social workers to act as Guardians and will expect all such work to be covered by Cafcass! That should make everything better.

This is very interesting indeed.

I called the other week seeking to complain about a guardian, who has been a very naughty boy, removing files from court, and was told he never worked for them.

So, i produced copies of 5 reports this Guardian had written as proof.

I never heard a word.

So, I called again, to now learn the top one is also gone.

What are these Guardians running from?
